Let's kick it off with the bombshell announcement that instead of a straight-up sequel to Man of Steel, we're getting a Superman/Batman WORLD'S FINEST movie! Thoughts? Do you want to see a new Bruce Wayne or would you prefer that they continue with the Dark Knight timeline and bring in Joe Gordon-Levitt as the new goddamn Batman?

Levitt wouldn't work as batman. i want to see a Bruce Wayne batman, no one else. but bringing in Levitt as nightwing would be cool. though i don't think Nolans batman would fit in the man of steel universe. reboot the batman for sure... also did guys hear? Avengers 2 title anounced.. "Avengers: age of ultron"

I guess I just want Levitt because I saw 500 Days of Summer and thought he had a lot of potential. Him as Nightwing would be cool too.

On second thought, Bryan Cranston would be a GREAT Batman.

I seriously don't think Bale is coming back in the role, and even though it would be epic, maybe this is a good thing. Its a fresh start and the Bale Dark Knight might not fit well in this MOS universe anyway. Depends. I think Joseph Gordon Levitt does not have the physicality needed from a Batman and anyway I would rather have Bruce Wayne than some dude named Robin. I think they should start off with a new Batman/Bruce Wayne casting in the MOS2 movie and then lead into a Justice League. Maybe hey could also throw in a Flash stand alone before hand, and leave Wonder woman's introduction to the JL movie. What I like about this direction is that they don't need to use up a Brainiac or Darkseid for the MOS2 movie and the can focus on the Batman-Superman relationship. Lex probably will make an appearance (and be key to why Batman faces of against Superman in the first place), but I think his role would be limited to something like a puppetmaster. Which means we could have several nice JL movies with Brainiac etc. as villains. Recasting Batman also means we free up all the Dark Knight series villains, including Joker who, sadly, would have needed to be recast anyway.

World's Finest is a great idea as it serves as a reboot to Batman and a sequel to Man of Steel. There is little doubt that Christian Bale will not come back to the role. Emma Thomas (Nolan's wife) has said it is a new interpretation, Goyer has said that the Dark Knight Trilogy is over, and Nolan would not want to have his universe within the Man of Steel one as he believes in a finite Batman, one that does not go on forever. Batman should be played by someone who is willing to bulk up, can play a tactical detective, and imposing yet has moments of light-heartedness. Karl Urban, Scott Adkin, ETC could fit these qualifications.

The Dark Knight continuity wouldn't work in a shared universe. Take TDKR, for example. The plot has Bane cripple Bruce and trap him in that place. And he then uses a nuclear reactor, to hold Gotham hostage for months.
When you put something like this, in a shared DC universe, you suddenly have to deal with the presence of Superman (potentially along with one or two other Kryptonian superheroes) and others with similar powers (or at least super speed). All of whom could've gotten into Gotham, undetected, searched all of the city for the bomb, in a matter of seconds (not to mention, gotten people out).

I think it's safe to say that NOLAN and BALE are out of the picture. TDKR was a masterpiece (my opinion) and wrapped everything up. If I were Bruce- I'd just drink my coffee everyday while chatting with Selena & Alfred- then spend the rest of the day 'cuddling' (wink-wink!) with Catwoman. Seems like rather than REBOOT Batman, which seems unnecessary- I think we're going to get an "absolute" Batman. Meaning? just like the 1989 version- the Batcave is there, he's got the suit and the tech- he's Batman. We don't know how he got the stuff- he's just, Batman. I think Nolan gave us some reasonable material that supports the 'how' and 'where' factors to the Batman and his gear. Movie starts = there's Batman. No origin, no beginnings, he's just.. BATMAN!
I really don't care who plays TDK as long as it isn't Justin Bieber, Ryan Reynolds or Channing Tatums. Fresh face = probably, since they won't need another big name due to Cavill and gang returning. Superman & Batman working together? the HOCKEY-PAD wearing vigilante who "works alone" venturing to the "Fortress of SOLITUDE," you know what- okay. I really don't see these guys working together, not saying it's a bad thing but I'm just curious how & why they come together, especially when they need to form the JUSTICE LEAGUE- must be desperate times!
JGL - I doubt it. The end of TDKR made it clear that ANYONE can be a hero, and that RJB was given the keys to the Batcave- it's not like they teased another villain at the end for a setup for a spinoff movie. Didn't see him suit up, he just stood on the platform and then.. RISE. I think it was just a message- not a cliffhanger.
You want to 'start over,' then I suggest- NEW faces. It's that simple.

Hi everyone. Love your show, watch it everytime. Im from Portugal and english is not my native language so sorry in advance for any error. So with all the buzz around the upcoming Man of sttel movie who would you like to see playing Batman? Do you consider a good move from WB/DC going on this route in a so close window to pull it off? And for last, in the Man of Steel movie we didn t get to see much of a superman interact with others, in a way to create an image of this good guy and beloved hero, wich in my opinion lack a little of carachter development in order to give us this upscaling action scenes. With that i really think that the Batman entry in a superman movie will overshadow the main star (Superman) and people will focus the most beloved one (Batman). What do you guys think?
